Souper Social Sundays at Sneinton Hermitage

posted 8 Jan 2012, 09:55 by Unknown user
I went along today to the Souper Social Sunday run by the All Ours project at Sneinton Hermitage Community Centre. There was delicious soup and warm bread and butter on offer for just £1.50 and ginger bread, date cupcakes and fresh fruit for another 50p. It was a great atmosphere, with pool and table tennis games going on and juggling from the Middle Street Jugglers.  I found the volunteers very friendly and the food delicious.

‘All Ours’ is a grass roots voluntary organisation set up in 2006. All Ours is aimed adults who are feeling isolated and excluded, in particular those who are experiencing mental ill health. Their events promote healthy eating and they aim to create a safe and welcoming environment for all.

The next Souper Social Sunday will be on 12th February at Sneinton Hermitage. After that All Ours are taking a break until the autumn to regroup and develop their volunteers and board. They would be interested to hear from anyone interested in joining them to plan for the future. Contact details can be found on the All Ours website.
