The SEND Project, the award-winning community arts organisation based in Sneinton has, this week, welcomed a new member of the team. Dave Thomas joins them as Volunteer Coordinator bringing a wealth of experience of volunteering gained as a volunteer and volunteer manager for over 40 years. In fact, his first volunteering experience was as a child study for his mum's girl guides at less than a year old. He has worked in volunteer management in Nottingham, South Derbyshire and in Gedling prior to joining the Sneinton-based team. With Dave's arrival, there are exciting new opportunities for volunteers to get involved with the SEND project. There are opportunities to be involved in a broad range of arts and music activities with young people as well with cooking and other life skills. Volunteers are also busy behind the scenes, supporting the project with such activities as poster and leaflet design. SEND have also launched an interesting new volunteering opportunity to join a team of volunteers who go out occasionally to promote the project to members of the public, potential volunteers and other organisations. If you would like to find out more about volunteering at the SEND Project, you can contact Dave Thomas at dave@sendproject.com |
