Sneinton's Light Night Parade- join in!

Nottingham's annual Light Night came to Sneinton Market this year! Part of the event was a double parade from the communities of Sneinton and St Anns, processing through the streets and meeting at the Market Square.

City Arts worked with the SEND project at the Greenway Centre to prepare for the Sneinton arm of the parade.

Check out some photos from the event below. The parade was great, with New Orleans style brass band music giving it a real swing, beautiful lanterns, a metal child-sized puppet and a huge paper festival lady lantern which was so large it had to be manoeuvred around overhanging trees. The event at Sneinton Market was really buzzing, with a roller disco, live music and great stalls. Well done all involved.

Phil Campbell dropped in to see the parade lanterns under construction and made the great little montage of the action below (click to play!).

Families who want to follow the parade from Sneinton should gather at the Greenway Centre (see map below) for 5.30pm on Friday 28th.
