New designs on the Dale

Planning permission is being sought for this row of seven shops, with seven 2 bed maisonettes above, on Sneinton Dale. 14 private car park spaces are included in a rear yard which also serves as an entrance way to the flats, bin storage and delivery area to the shops. The main materials are yellow brick, red wall tiles and grey plastic coated windows which jut out from the walls at an angle as a design feature.

A previous application for 9 shops and maisonettes was withdrawn in 2011. The reduced size of the new application has allowed for the on-site parking to be included. In the meantime, the 1930s art deco style cinema (used as the Aerborn factory) which stood on the site has been demolished and the site has stood empty for more than a year.
