There is a Local Issues Meeting being held at the MCO on Beaumont Street in Sneinton on Monday 17th September (see flier image). It's a chance to raise issues and concerns that you have about your neighbourhood and meet your local elected Councillors, City officers, Neighbourhood Managers, Police and others. There are around 10 such Local Issues Meetings (LIMs) held each year across 7 venues in the Dales ward (Sneinton and Bakersfield). The streets surrounding each venue are leafletted in advance of each meeting, so each one tends to focus on issues relevant to local people around the venue. Over the course of the year everyone across the area should get a chance to go to a meeting at a venue close to them. Issues raised in the LIM are fed back in to the Dales Ward Plan which captures the issues, actions the Council will take and how residents can get involved. Out of this, and data collected through research, the Ward Priorities are set, and eventually a Ward Action Plan is developed. It sounds complicated, but basically the idea is to keep a track of the issues that residents raise and make sure something gets done about them. So it is worth going along and voicing your concerns. The process is managed by our Dales Ward Neighbourhood Development Officers, Zbyszek Luczynski and Beth Hanna. You can contact them on 0115 9150379. |
