Development starts at former pub site

posted 12 Nov 2011, 17:44 by Unknown user

Building work has started on the site of the former Earl Manvers Pub on Colwick Road.

Planning permission has been granted for 7 dwellings: 4 houses and 2 apartments in a terraced arrangement facing Colwick Road and turning the corner into Hutton Street, and a detached house on Trent Lane. The homes are described as affordable housing and will be owned by the NCHA.

The site has stood empty since the the Earl Manvers pub closed. The gradual dereliction of the site and unsafe condition of the building led to a demolition notice being served in 2009.
