Above: Shona serves breakfast at the Lord Nelson in Sneinton, 2011 Inset: Shona and team with the Mobile Food School from the Local Alchemy magazine, Summer 2006 "In 2007 I had a limited
company Maingredient Ltd. with a partner – a food specific support service –
developing people’s business ideas into practice. The Alchemy Fund we were
awarded enabled us to set this up and vie for funding through ESF and LSC to
deliver a project called Mobile Food School. Based in Radford, the practical
part delivered a Crepe and Juice Bar on Sneinton Market where participants
injected their ideas and learned how to run a food stall." "I’m
currently doing development work for Sneinton Alchemy which includes
consultation with residents to find out local people’s thoughts on a new kind
of space for Sneinton. I’m also running a breakfast club on Sundays at the
local pub and recently did some film crew catering from the same premises. Now
I’m looking at having a finger in less pies and concentrate on one area." Interview and photos by Colin Haynes, July 2011 |
