What? Street Level is your chance to train as a community organiser for free
When? Throughout 2014
Who? Everyone is welcome to take part in some way
Where? in Sneinton and Bakersfield
Why? Because we believe that, instead of designing projects and activities for you, we should support you to find out what people on your street and in your area want. We can then support new projects (as a team) that have more chance of building our community
What are the benefits of becoming a “Street Level Organiser”

  • Help your friends, neighbours and the community by listening to their concerns
  • Support local action that you know will work
  • Gain recognised qualifications in Community Organising beginning with a three day residential course
  • Gain confidence and new skills
  • Be part of a strong local network that can work together to face events that challenge us all
What is involved?
  • Giving whatever time you can spare e.g. 1-3 hours per week or even every month
  • Listen to 50 residents over the course of 2014
  • Identify 2 other volunteers/leaders to join the team
  • Identity one project idea that has legs!
  • Take part in short course training in   Community Organising, including  conflict management, safeguarding, working with the emergency services and many others
  • Commit to the confidentiality and data protection and the Community Organisers code of conduct
