One the key issues that has come up many times in the listening is football.

One group of young adults that play on a small piece of concrete (the only place to play in Sneinton) wanted to play proper matches.  Another group of young asian lads at the youth club wanted to form their own team.  And a local parent, and now Volunteer Community Organiser, Ray, wanted to support the development of a local football club.

These early conversations developed into some serious action in the last few months.  The highlight being the new youth club team won a competition at the Forest Recreation Ground last Sunday!  The previous Sunday was their first competition, but at that one they lost all their games!

They are now keen to raise their own money for football kit, and training sessions.  A letter is going off soon to Morrisons to see when they can do bag packing!

The adult team also played their first competition, and Ray is planning the football club, registering with the FA, fundraising and organising coaching and referee training.
