A team of Community Organisers is forming around the Sneinton Market area. Contact Dawn to find out more. Volunteer Community Organiser Kim is one of the team, and has recently blogged about her experience of getting involved.

"...I was pretty fed up so started looking for voluntary work to do on my days off ... I thought I could do something else to try and find some enthusiasm again. I came across Community Organisers ad for volunteers. It was intriguing and I didn’t really know what I’d be doing so I just wrote a quick email asking for more info and saying what I could offer."

"Hey presto, long story short, Dawn and me met up for a coffee, she explained she’s working around regenerating Sneinton Market area by gathering loads of knowledge from local people and businesses, what they would like to see happen basically, as the people who most use the space..."

"To be entirely truthful there are selfish motives for my involvement, I live not far from Sneinton Market, and my area is rubbish! I want to see it improved, so who else is going to sort it out if you don’t get involved your self? I want a local fruit and veg shop and a butchers and somewhere for the kids on my street to play and to not have to hop-scotch to work over dog poo every morning! Lets see."
