Celebrating our volunteers

We had a celebration meal on Monday night to say thank you to our team of over 50 volunteer community organisers. It was great to share a drink and food in the bar at Antenna business hub, and to catch up on some of the important ideas and projects that are under way and emerging.

It was a reminder too of how sharing food can bring a community together, and how important the social network is to reaching people across Sneinton.

The real strength behind the Community Organising model is the way it builds informal and formal networks around shared concerns and visions- the feeling  in the room was that each person there brought with them a whole section of the wider community.

Thanks to CO Steve for all his hard work organising the event, coping with last-minute technical hitches and being the sharpest dressed person in the room.
