Winter Festival
Sneinton Festival Group has funding from Trent FM and the V Project to produce a new pilot festival to create new volunteering opportunities for young people aged between 16-25 years old.
WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS;
30 young people, from 16 to 25, enthusiastic about the arts, or wanting to get involved in the Festival.
Whatever you are interested in you could work on arts, music, drama, heritage, event management, catering, sports, costume making, lighting, organising, or publicity! We want to improve things for young people in Sneinton, and build a vibrant community.
Holly Cassidy, Coordinator, will work with the schools and youth groups offering taster sessions for new events. There will be further chances to work on the summer festival and with even younger people who would like to be mentored by slightly older 'kids'.
We can offer basic training in first aid and personal development and further training where it is wanted. For some this will lead to improved career opportunities.
We want to celebrate Sneinton through education, arts, performance, display or sports, giving all the different cultures -with their different experiences - the chance to meet at workshops and social events cumulating in a final winter Carnival day.
Please get involved in any way possible. If you can offer training, a taster day for the Festival Programme or if you know someone who would like to volunteer, get in touch! There are other projects we are developing that you might like to be involved with in the future.
